Monster Hunter - Nemesis

Carries the banner of military fantasy proudly. Monster Hunter International, Second Edition. Book 1. Welcome to Monster Hunter International. Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a fourteenth story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer.

It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Officially secret, some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. On the other side are the people who kill monsters for a living. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit. It's actually a pretty sweet gig, except for one little problem. An ancient entity known as the Cursed One has returned to settle a centuries old vendetta.

Should the Cursed One succeed, it means the end of the world, and MHI is the only thing standing in his way. With the clock ticking towards Armageddon, Owen finds himself trapped between legions of undead minions, belligerent federal agents, a cryptic ghost who has taken up residence inside his head, and the cursed family of the woman he loves. Business is good. Monster Hunter International. More in urban fantasy. Rachel Vincent. The unscrupulous new Council chair has charged Jace, Marc and me with trespassing, kidnapping, murder and treason. Yeah, we've been busy.

But now it's time to take justice into our own hands. We must avenge my brother's death and carve out the rot at the heart of the Council. I loved it. It overlaps with Siege in the timeline. Her task: hold down the fort and take care of her new baby son Ray. Julie is the Guardian of a powerful ancient artifact known as the Kamaresh Yar, and Brother Death wants it. In the wrong hands, it could destroy reality as we know it. Julie would die before giving it up. Then Ray goes missing, taken by Brother Death.

The price for his safe return: the Kamaresh Yar. To reclaim her son, Julie Shackleford will have to fight her way through necromantic death cults, child-stealing monsters, and worse. I only ask because my wordpress is going to be used not just for my future novels, but to review books that I like. I have read all the books you have out so far. Is there a tentative release date for Swords of Exodus? Not yet.

Mike is writing his half now. That whole go to war thing really screws up your deadlines. I really cannot wait to see what happens. Love the books Larry, so much so I talked my brother into getting kindle and buying the digital versions of your books. Looking forwards to Legion! What happened to the Bullpup BAR? Love your work Luke. I must say I just finished legion and I am quite furious. But most definitely ready for the next one.

I read international when it first came out and have read all of the serious. You are by far my favorite author, and I have read many a book. Please please please keep up the good work, I will be looking for any news regarding the next book. That is all for now, I will be checking on you soon enough. Finest Regards, Mr. I read it straight and I did hardly could stop for some break such as sleeping or eating. As I expect some long waiting for the next traduction.

Shekespeare — R. Stevenson — T. Just wondering when the audio of Legion will be coming out. I love your new book Monster Hunters Legion. I want to see Management the Dragon back in the next book. Let us not forget that they have a mystical accountant and punching bag in Owen and his super hot wife, Julie, an extremely reluctant Guardian whose powers are beginning to manifest. We NEED all your books available in french!!! Lucky Frenchies. I know you have a few more planned but will the follow the story?

Dear Mr. Anyway, while browsing my Goodreads app searching for something to fill the gap I happened across Monster Hunters International. I was just about to pass when I noticed an anti-gun liberal jack hole rated you book one star. His smug reveiw made me go out and purchase MHI that day. And I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just finished Legion, Thank you for such Awesome Stories. So ready for the next in the Grimnoir series too. I listen to books while in the Vehicle and while working so Audio books are my drug now. Loved all your other novels I am pretty sure that one will be amazing too.

Hardback Editions

I finally have time to read Legion and an idea popped into my head. Just some fake sights that have cool blogs, press releases legal mombo jumbo. I bet you could even get a fan to do most of the site and all you would have to do is approve of it. Bet you could get tons of contributions from fans with little ideas for local outbreaks, character backstory ideas, etc. The website is the easy part to set up, at least the back bones.

The important parts are the; Layout, Stories cover stories, out breaks, witness reports , PUFF listings, and the Artist Renditions sketches of the nasty monsters from witness reports. For most of it, it would require a fans with artistic talent and writing talent. I would love for sites like that, I would visit regularly to see the new witness reports and sketches. Larry, Loved MHL!

Honestly, I had a blast reading MHL — just like all your other books. Those last few lines of MHL put a big lump in the throat of every son who ever loved his father. Larry — Longtime reader, big fan. Do the electronic ear plugs used by MHI actually exist? If so, what brand are they?

I figure telling a bunch of kids that guns are good and killing Bambie and Thumper to survive will go down easier with some fiction along side it. Larry, just finished Legion and I have to tell you….. I wanted MORE. Love your books, you already know that, but Legion was really something special. Looking forward to MORE. I love your book. All except one thing. When you mention the excellent music selection on page you misspelled my Fave bands name.

Your my new Fave writer keep it up man. It would be even better if you made patches for every team! I realize, of course, that you do have a life outside of writing, but this just made me tear up a little. I just downloaded Legion. Is there a way to request it from Audible? If so, I would be more that happy to add my name to those who would request it. I have to tell you that I found you after following a link given to me by someone who was very impressed with your blog post about gun control. Very good post, by the way.

The post gave me a lot to think about, so thanks for that. So excited to listen to more. Thanks so much! Also Available at Amazon. I just had to have a lever action. Thanks for writing books that those of us in the hobby can get into. Love the books Larry. Question though. Was there any major changes from the early release ebook to final print? What sucks is I cant take electronics into the place I work. Gonna have my books sent to me or just buy them again on amazon. Love the books so glad an old friend told me about them. Cant wait for the next MHI book!

Anything MHI related you got my money. Greetings from Afghanistan! Mostly small edits and moving some stuff around. Is there a release date? Did you hear about the Supreme Court ruling of Kirtsaeng v. It seems to have some interesting implications for fiction authors. Props must be given to B. I just finished re-reading all of the Monster Hunter books.

I just finished Hard Magic and I was blown away by your design of a new fantasy magic world. I just bought Spellbound and MH Vendetta and will be ravenously consuming them shortly. Street date for Grimnoir 3? Is there any author more enjoyable to read than Larry? Been reading and collecting for more than 30 years, and I do not know of anybody even close! I just wanted to take some time to thank you for an amazing series of books. I read all 4 Monster Hunter books in three weeks.

For me, I have to really like the characters in any given story if I am going to really enjoy it, and I fell in love with every character in yours. His impeccable taste in music makes up for our completely different political views ;-. I mean, honestly, Mein Herz Brennt??

One song in particular, off of the album The Power of Beef, really reminds me of Harbinger. Well, I am very much looking forward to the next installment, and I fully intend to have each and every person I know read each book, or tell me to shut up and stop trying to get them to. Hope all is well with you and your family!

And Grimnoir! And I luvs Dead Six! The only question we have have is …. Pretty please, with werewolves on top? Hi just finished reading Legions and loved it, I have posted a review on my book review blog and would love to do an interview with you. All the best and keep the great stories rolling. I take it you moderate all comments first. If you click on my profile there is a contact link for me on my blog. More Grimnoir please. Pretty please? I have to know what happens next or I might explode.

That happens sometimes right? Have you consider having your MHI novels turned into manga? I am 62 and I want to read more of your books. Tonight, though, I realized that it needed to be a TV series, made by the same people who make Supernatural.

Larry Correia

Supernatural pulls of monsters, weapons, drama, humor, tenderness, terror, sadness, loss, and love. Tiffany, I love Supernatural and agree with you, provided it is not done on the CW as ateeny bopper show. Laughing, everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if I think they are so so wrong. I am one of those insane folks that likes the ebooks better than the hard copy. It might have something to do with being a pack rat and married to one, we kind of ran out of bookshelf space a hile ago.

I put my favorite stories as 1. I want to read more about the characters. I love them! Thank you. Larry, I am patiently waiting for Nemesis to come out. I finished Legion within the first week of this last deployment and got half of my squad turned on to your books. I always enjoy your political rants. Keep writing for the sake of the military and keep ranting for the sake of humanity.

Going on leave to enjoy some much needed down time and I plan on starting the Grimnoir Chronicles. Correia on Audible? Bronson Pinchot does a fantastic job of fleshing out the characters in the first two. Awaiting their feedback. Do we have a release date for the next MHI? I have a tiny beef though. All of your references to classical music have been for either evil characters or douche-bags Grant Jefferson.

Come on now, cool kids like opera too! Just finished listening to Hard Magic on Audible also and looking forward to starting Spellbound. I just figured out that Warbound is expected to release August sixth. I got the first one for him as a surprise and he was head over heels, and devoured it in a few days. It would be fantastic if MHI could get translated in french, they are just so good. Keep up the excellent work! Respectfully, Diane Le Feyer. Hi Larry, Will Warbound really be the last in the series or will there be other books from the Grimnoir world?

This is the end of the trilogy about these characters in this time period, but there will be others set in the same world. Will there be any spoilers for the new books in the grimnoir series in Warbound or when should we expect the new series to come out? Larry, Huge fan got all your books on audio and hardback. Was wondering when Nemesis might be released. Just finished Warbound and I am in awe. You have done a wonderful job tying your lore into a fantastic and coherent story line.

You sir are the Robert Heinlein of our times. Please keep it coming! Larry I have just finished reading the eARC of Swords of Exodus and as usual it was a great read and like all of your books it kept me reading late past my bed time and at my age I need every minute I can get….. Now get busy and get writing….. I finished the Grimnoir series in 4 days. I had to force myself to sleep!! I love the time period, the characters, and the whole premise of course.

Warbound was left at a good stopping point but I really hope this isnt the last of Jake, Faye, Heinrich, and the rest. Cant wait to get started on the next series! Larry, Yet another great job with Warbound! Any chance of a similar style story or a prequel for Grimnoir?

Legion (Monster Hunter International, book 4) by Larry Correia

I am mostly through with the Baen e-book version of Warbound. Love the book, but you seriously need to talk to your editor. I caught a few spelling and syntax errors; however, the most egregious thing was when the beastie told Sullivan to turn right down an alley to get to a tailor shop. He turned left and got where he needed to go anyway…. Two part question 1. Is there another MHI book in the works. And 2. Ok thank u now about the TV series I keep hearing about is that for real.

Your one of the best authors I know right up there with Terry Brooks thanx for all ur hard work. I just discovered your works about a year ago and wanted to let you know what a pleasant surprise they have been. I enjoy your libertarianish outlook and the great action. As you might have guessed, Jake Sullivan and Co. I especially enjoy the very distinctive cast of characters that inhabit both of these worlds.

Speaking of memorable characters, of all the good souls who have met untimely ends in your stories, the one that sticks with me the most is poor Delilah. Someone who had such a hard-scrabble life, so few periods of contentment or happiness the last one about a day long and who then had to spend her last hours under a terrible and painful curse. Seems like she always got the dirty end of the stick. While I think we would assume that, it would be nice to hear it from her own ghostly lips.

Please keep up the great work, and thanks! I knew you HAD to be from Alabama! Only a native could nail this place like you do. I appreciate that and everything else about your work. You ROCK! Thanks for the great news!!! Larry Correia is the best dog gone writer of fantasy fiction of this or any era! Rock in a new mag and let em have it!!!

Entertainment One, the same company that does the Walking Dead has purchased the rights. Oh, and finished Swords. You suck for keeping me up hours past when I should have gone to bed I work 3rd shift … but not as much as you do for what happened to Lorenzo. Is there any special reason that Dead Six is not on audible?

It looks like a great story, but I cannot find it on Audible. Amazing series, the pair of them. Hi Larry, Love your stories mate. Oh god…Larry…I really need to know what happens to Owen and Julie. I got into the audio versions of MHI and can I say not only are the plots and characters incredible but great job on picking the narrator! Overall it was fantastically entertaining and made my commute fly by. Their called Monster Hunter International. Hope you have the same narrator! Ok, I admit it. Nothing, nothing is filling the hole left after, after… Legion. Wackiness ensues.

Lots of shout-outs to various classic figures the Shadow, Doc Savage, etc. If I may ask, is it alright if I buy the books from Book Depository? Wonderful to hear! Order placed for the current stack of MHI, and they should be here in time for my birthday. All the news would say was somewhere in the SE on the way to a New Orleans show. Images show the burning bus at the time.

Post fire photos show the roof was caved in.. I guess they need to watch out for those claws.. Take care. Now for the love of god start banging those keys. Sadly, I forgot sorry, Larry! Today, I correct that […]. Dear Larry. But that information is nigh impossible to find I finally found it on your Wikipedia page. So, this one time, I noticed that you have exactly what I was looking for on one of the side borders of the main page. So, great job in fulfilling the unvoiced desires of your fans! Who cares, though? Absolutely love your books.

I stumbled upon one of your books at audible. I have been watching for Monster Hunter Nemesis to come up for preorder as an ebook but have not seen anything yet. Is the ebook gonna come out the same time as the hardcover and if so, where will it be available from? It will be available everywhere that sells ebooks. It should be up on Amazon now for the Kindle store, and it is on the Baen page.

Scheduled for July 1, same as print version. MHI was great. Amazing infact. Im studying french and was wondering if any of your books have been translated yet. If so where can I get one? You are an amazing author. My son-in-law introduced me to your work and now he is my favorite, if only, son-in-law!!! Is the symbol that Owen is looking for in Legion the same one that represents the evil god that Kurst agrees to work for?

Is it Cthulhu? From their conversation at the end of book 5, it would appear that Stricken was in the know about this and hasten the game a bit with both Las Vegas and Nemesis. Given the cosmology involved it may well be something older than, or contemporaneous with, God the Creator of the MHI universe. Like the Old Ones, only not one of them.

I just finished Nemisis and it was awesome. Does anyone have a clue when it will be out? Man I freakin love the Monster Hunter series!!! This stuff should be made into movies — the characters are so vivid and well put together — it all works so well. Love MHI! Midway through Nemesis, had to stop because my eyes are worn out. Maybe not as bad as Harbinger Just wanted to thank you for writing another great book. Been meaning to comment for a while…You Monster Hunter books are awesome.

I hope it comes out soon. As a fan, sometimes waiting between books sucks. But, I get it, quality takes time. Your Gun Geek Knowledge is great. I enjoy the political jabs. I love the mixed Mythology and Lore. And, I have a feeling you have just barely revealed the entire plot to us…. I just finished reading listening to audio, actually and just wanted to tell you what a kick-ass writer you are. SO much FUN! Your narrator, Wyman, is a master as well. He brings your books to life.

Thanks for taking the time to download your imagination to the rest of us puny humans. I love your Monster Hunter series and the Grim Noir series. It is so difficult to find excellent new writers to read. My brother recommended the books. The characters are so realistic and you keep them consistent and growing from book to book. I enjoy the relationships between the characters and when you write an action scene I can really visualize it. The audio books are also great and the reader makes the characters come alive. Being bored and nothing else to do I started to read your book. Never been into fantasy books but I could not put yours down.

I was a little lost because it was the third book but I was hooked. Read everyone since and cannot wait for more. Two questions or one question one statement 1 When will guardian come out? Basically the stories you write and characters you develop are so rich I personally do not think a movie would do them justice. Either way thanks for all you do. Recently they teamed up with another giant company and brought in a team of screenwriters, so it has gone into development for a TV show.

But this is Hollywood, so you never get your hopes up too much. So is it Omega thought there were 7 books in the series and figured omega would be the last because its the last letter in the Greek alphabet. If not what will the next one be called? Once again keep up the awesome work!

There are more than that. I just want to say I love the Monster Hunter books. I literally cried when I found out Nemesis was out!!! Very entertaining!! Any idea of a movie coming out for these books? I think it would be a good one…with the right actors of course. I read a blog somebody put out that was absolutely ridiculous… The listed people to play roles…Janeane Garofalo to play Julie Shackleford was a pick they had. After much rambling. I just have to say, thank you for this book series.

Late to the party… just finished Spellbound. Especially the big fight on the Mall in Washington! Hah, your roasting of others is very funny. But, i would prefer you do nothing but write novels food water and defication only on alternating days , please write more faster. Correia, I have just finished reading your MHI books, all of which were great.

However, I have a question. It is a premise of the MHI universe that the more people there are actively thinking about and believing in monsters, the more access to this world said monsters will have. It also seems to be a given that MHI Hunters know and accept this to be true. So, if it is true, and they know it to be true, and they know how much pain and damage monsters are already capable of inflicting even though the existence of monsters is not commonly known, why do they hate the MCB so much for killing uncooperative witnesses?

In the MHI universe, it is something which simply MUST be done, not because or at least not just because people are too weak to handle the truth, but because people knowing the truth will actively make that truth worse. MCB really does need to develop the roofie drug from Hell to solve the problem of having to liquidate uncooperative witnesses. In Nemesis, you do give a lot more insight into what the MCB is doing and into the people charged with doing it, which I thought was nice. Myers especially seems to understand the fundamental concept that, when you are the tip of the spear in the defense of your nation, your choices are not often between what is good and what is bad, but between what is bad and what is worse.

Will there be a point when MHI Hunters will be faced with this moral dilemma directly? Perhaps some kind of anti-authoritarian witnesses who band together to get the truth out in spite of the MCB and end up actually causing a knowledge induced, worst case scenario outbreak that MHI has to deal with? I would very much like to see how the MHI characters especially Trip and the doctors Nelson would deal with that and how it might change how they think about the MCB, its people and its tactics if they did. I have enjoyed every book I have read that was written by you and look forward to many more.

I was just curious if you have a guess when monster hunter guardian comes out? Great books man. First I must say that I have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of your books, especially the Monster Hunter series since I almost exactly match your description of Owen Pitt in both physical attributes as well as mindset and training. If you ever make film adaptation of the series let me know and I will gladly offer my services as a actor.

Love your stuff. Remember, nobody who matters even remotely cares about the Hugos: we only care when your next book comes out.
